Terms of Use

Effective October 15, 2026

The short version: subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your Apple ID settings, Apple handles payments and refunds, and the cards are for your own table, not for resale.

These terms cover the Present Company: Questions app, this website, and the card content we make. By using them, you agree to these terms. "Present Company", "we", and "us" mean the people behind Present Company.

1. The app and Apple's license agreement

The app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add to the Standard EULA. If the two ever conflict about the app, the Standard EULA wins.

2. Purchases and subscriptions

What you can buy

  • Packs ($4.99 each) are one-time purchases. They stay with your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed in with it.
  • All Access is an auto-renewing subscription, offered yearly ($39.99, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers) or monthly ($9.99, no trial). It opens every deck in the app.
  • Prices are in US dollars and may differ by country. The app always shows the current price before you buy.

How renewal works

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm your purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the next period within the 24 hours before the current one ends, at the same price unless we told you about a change in advance.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings. On iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
  • If you cancel, you keep All Access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Canceling stops the next renewal; it doesn't refund the current period.

Free trial

If you start the 7-day free trial of the yearly plan, it automatically becomes a paid yearly subscription when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends when the purchase is made.

Refunds

All in-app purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves, but we're happy to help if something went wrong: write to us.

Family Sharing

All Access can be shared with the members of your Apple Family Sharing group, as Apple allows. The person who bought the subscription is responsible for it.

3. Our cards, your table

Every question, dare, deck name, design, and illustration in Present Company belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use it for your own non-commercial play: at home, with friends, at your own table.

Please don't copy, resell, republish, or redistribute our card content, in print or online, and don't use it to make another product or service (including to train or build software) without our written permission. Quoting a card you love in a post, with credit to Present Company, is fine.

4. Printed decks and Present Company Monthly

Printed decks and Present Company Monthly, the subscription box, are sold separately from the app and aren't covered by Apple's billing. Joining the waitlist doesn't commit you to buying anything. When you order, any extra terms, such as shipping, returns, and billing, will be shown clearly before you pay.

5. Playing well

Present Company is a conversation game. It isn't counseling, therapy, or professional advice. Every card is optional: skip anything, anytime, for any reason. Truth or Dare decks are for people who chose to play. Never pressure anyone to answer a question or do a dare, and only include people who want to be included.

6. Warranty and liability

We work hard on Present Company, but the app and website are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Present Company after an update, the new terms apply.
